I need to change my v-belt as it is looking a little cracked (4ltr serp non air con)and having searched the forums i was just wondering if anyone has had problems fitting the 1855mm belt as opposed to the stated 1850mm belt. thanks in advance.

From a previous thread
You shouldn't have any problems locating an 1850 one though.

For info, and the benefit of people searching on this at a later date!
I've just done the job, its really quite easy. Should take 15mins tops.
1855 length belt fits fine. Just take a long screwdriver or jack handle and place it between the tensioner pivot and the exhaust manifold (the tensioner is under the alternator), stick something on the manifold so you don't damage it. Then its just a case of levering the tensioner in slightly to pop the old belt off, then threading the new one back on. Most difficult bit is making sure the ribs in the belt stay on the grooves on the main pulley off the crank at the bottom. Really needs 3 hands, but its possible on your own.
I went out fully expecting it to be one of those jobs that turns into a nightmare but was back in before me tea was brewed!
For 15 quid its worth changing anyway, my old belt didn't look too bad but when it came off it was apparent it was actually much worse than it looked when on!
Hope that helps some people.
Cheers

The proper method to move the tensioner is to use a 15mm spanner on the bolt that secures it(its a left hand thread so wont undo)and turn clockwise to move, replace belt using this methodI've just done the job, its really quite easy. Should take 15mins tops.
