Arrived late, exactly at the point when the heavens opened and more "experienced" people were headinmg back to their cars!
Tried to redeem the registration card at the VX trailer but it was locked with the lights off - does this now "exclude me from future events" as written on the note?
Apart from a little precipitation, we had a good afternoon with some interesting driving techniques from the BTCC guys (mainly sideways, off the track, in the gravel or sliding sideways for several hundred yards on the grass before rejoining the track....!) And nice to see a fair few Monaro's in attendance despite the rain.

Is yours a grey one, if so, saw you arrive? We left after the downpour as or son's 'Cat' jacket wasn't nearly as waterproof as we thought - he was soaked and frozen, so it was time to go. Will confirm that the trailer was locked, although open earlier on.
Other than the above, really have to congratulate Vauxhall for the effort that they have put in to supporting all rounds.
I saw that the VXR8 outsite the Vauxhall owners stand displayed supercharged badges front and rear, and had a performance exhaust. Shame that it was notadvertised accordingly. Was it the real McCoy, or just'go faster' badges?

Thanks for the confirmation, yes we were the grey one on the end, just saw BO55, Roger and others leaving as we arrived.
Saw the "supercharged" badges on the VXR8 also but no sign of anything on the spec sheets.
Great tunnel though....... shame its not wider so you can have a blast through, but did my bit to bring wortec to the attention of everone walking through!

Hi Wolfracer,
I noticed your car when I was leaving, was nice to see the three Odyssey cars, I was going to pull over but no one was around the car. The one a little behind your was PCV8's car (Paul's).
Weather was terrible and not good for the chatting and car admiring. But was great to chat to some of you guys and nice to see Roger again (was the first time I have seen him without emptying my bank balance - LOL).
Cheers
Steven

Many thanks to the organisers for an entertaining days racing/rallycross!
Typical British Weather on the day but it did spice up the on off track racing.
Had to drive through a small lake in the car park after the heavens opened again.
On the way in, the marshal at the end of coppice tunnel politely told me off for
speeding slightly, then smiled and said the car sounded great.
On the way out same marshal said "you look like a sensible chap, 5mph in the tunnel"
As instructed i did 5mph all the way through, the last third coasting with the engine
revved up and down. Centre boxes are out at the moment.
There were lots of men laughing and women glaring.

Maybe next time we'll all get lined up "properly" like the astras etc..., but i suppose it is easy if your cars only come in 2 colours....!
Moved my car later to right outside the hospitality tent. Got a good view from there, a hot drink and easy access to all the stuff a 9 month old son insists on bringing with him! By the time i left the "lake" you speak about had turned into what can only be described as an ocean. Mr sensible took it steady as i didn't want to get the electrics wet and probably break down half way through the tunnel! Now that would be an interesting finish to the day......
just back and yes the VXR8 has the supercharger - got the photos to prove it as well. nice Vauxhall chappy sat and revved it up for us and then popped the bonnet for a look see. as usual was last monaro to leave - 6:35 last race finished, just as the rain came on again!!! those that left after 2nd btcc race missed the mother of all downpours - photos to follow as well. well done everyone for getting the organisation sorted out as best you could on a miserable day.
I'd like to add my thanks as well. A great day despite the rain and great to be able to put more names to faces and meet some old ones as well. Thank goodness for the Vauxhall hospitality tent and the complimentary tea and biccies when the real downpours started.
Got split up from the main convoy at Donnington Park Services so, ended up in lower 'car park (swimming pool)'. Saw the other Yellow 05 (06 plate) CV8 there, but didn't see the driver otherwise would have gone over for a chat.
A nice Impulse Blue CV8 with AP's, 05 bonnet and VXR boot spoiler was parked next to mine and later came steaming past me just after Knutsford services M6 northbound. Whoever you are, it looked a monster from behind with all the road spray you were kicking up hence me having to back off a bit!
Look forward to meeting some more of you again in the future.
