I'd be looking across towards the main road on the aproach to the junction as well as on my arrival at it. You can often get a view of another road though gaps in the hedges, gates etc on the way up to the junction.

Once at the junction, if the view is poor, wind your windows down and listen for approaching vehicles as well as looking for them.

If you're still unsure, turn left and then turn around somewhere safe.

I wouldn't use the junction on a regular basis, I'd find an alternative.

Crikey that's a dodgy junction! Does that actually exist?

Use CHAV the new driving system

Cruise-Adopt the correct semi reclined posture, right elbow on window, left arm on passenger seat, wheel held in the optimum twenty past four position

Hang- Ensure that everyone knows you are on the road. Make your car visible, fluorescent colours work best, Max the volume on your ICE, rev that engine and get a big bucket of a zorst on!! (Remember you rule! Everyone else should get out of your way, so give them some warning)

Accelerate- The answer to any situation, give it some buns, you have the best car on the road, and will be able to rip through any situation before an accident occurs, If you look in your rear view mirror, that’s right, move it from looking at yourself, through the gap between the stickers and the big wing on the boot, you’ll see lots of accidents happening behind you, this proves that you are driving tight.

V- the correct signal for other road users in any situation, advanced CHAV users can also use the vinegar shaker and the single finger, but take your time, If you’re really comfortable about attempting two things at the same time, trying mouthing the words F***ing W****r and just see the respect grow.

So in this situation

Approach junction at 60plus, select the correct tunes
Ensure that mobile phone is securely wedged between cheek and left shoulder
Take swig of coffee from travel mug wedged between knees
1) Pull straight out
2) Pull straight out and give it large to break traction
3) Pull straight out but attempt the turn using the handbrake, you saw it on U-tube last night so it must be easy

Establish position on road, SORTED!

The Author would like to point out that the views expressed above do not constitute an admission of any breach of road traffic laws of this country, but I've seen all of them many times.
