Has any one out there managed to setup a new key fob for the central locking after an old one has died on them, I've got one working and one not so initial thoughts were batteries. They have now been changed with still no luck. So I then though is might not be setup with the car alarm.
A fiend of mine has given me some info on how to do this. eg. turn alarm on and off 16 times then you can align the new fob with the alarm, but it is disarming the alarm after 8 on's and off's and still new fob won't work

Any guesses any one, or is my new fob dead confused

p.s Griff 500 1997 standard Meta Alarm

As well as the on/off set up routine you describe, the fob itself needs to be 'coded' to the alarm by the supplier (hex code on red key fob you should have had with car).

I think he means a flat strip of red plastic with some letters/numbers embossed on it.
Not a red fob with a button, battery and electrics in it.

Did you forget to chant the Lords Prayer backwards whilst spinning round 666 times during the procedure. It also apparently helps if you do this naked on the drive with a sugared ring doughnut speared upon your lady hanger.

Hope this doesn't compromise security hehe
