check its had a cambelt change or if due negotiate hard as they are an expensive service interval...check with the local stealer (dealer) for the price.
Other than that they are hard wearing so interior should be in good condition, check rear cup holders in the seat work still as they can get compressed/stuck if the seats have been dropped to lug kit about and also keep an eye out for airbag lights flashing on and off, usually sensor plugs under the seats being kicked etc but can be annoying and expensive to track down the cause. Check the condition of the front brake discs and pads, if they are due then factor in about £100 in parts and another £100-£200 if someone is going to change them for you at an audi garage

Finally, check the lower apron of the front bumper (and the undertray) are in one piece, the chin is low and as a result its easy to rip one (BTDT!) A replaced and painted front bumper will cost about £300.

Good luck!

Most of the V6's have cam-belt intervals at 75k-80k. There are a few special tools required so mickey mouse motors won't be able to do it. The 2.4, 2.6 and the 2.8s are quite similar but the 2.5 diesel cam-belt it a bigger job with more special tools needed. I've quoted a mate of mine £400 to do his 2.8 privately- which includes the complete cam-belt kit, water pump, multi ribbed belt and the labour. So expect the same if not more from a specialist and definatly more at a main dealer.

I had a 53 reg A6 2.5 TDI avant, one of the best car's I have owned/driven. The only thing that let it down is the CVT gearbox. It was alot better than an auto/manual however the early CVT boxes [like what I had] had a twin clutch plate, where as the new one's have a triple or something like that - which meant as time went on some part would wear down the result being a delay sometimes when applying the power then a sudden bang and it propelled you down the road.......

Audi are aware of it and car's out of warranty often get a heavy subsidy to replace the parts.
