Alternator Belt

Anyone know where I can pick up an alternator belt?
It's a Bando Synchronous Belt 277L. Everywhere I've tried so far can't specify the belt without me giving them the make and model of the car, and of course as soon as I tell them I get the typical "what" response.

if there is a number on the belt then call auto parts with it, and they usually have one off the shelf, Or try Steve Smith in Nuneaton, Warwickshire

i got my new one from the factory after much messing about looking localy !!! come to think of it i might have a spare someware ,

Eventually found one, but it's a tad narrower, don't think it'll be a problem. Are the standard belts the toothed variety? Not come accross an alternator belt with teeth on it before.

Simon, if you don't have air/con then run a serpentine system. I have on mine, a bit more expense but I think worth it in the long run as you don't have to have the belts really tight. Saves the alternator bracket from snapping and belts don't turn themselves inside out of which I've seen a couple.
I'm having to run one long belt as with the air/con pump where it is you have to run an idler pulley up between the crank and air con pullys to get enough rap on both pulleys, unless you have a long nose water pump then you can use a 6x6 ribbed crank pulley and run two belts. (if that makes sense!!!)
