As per title - My daughter got top results in her SATs, so she gets a laptop. Anyone on here able to supply a simple laptop cheaper than Dell?

not much cheaper than the new ones - I can get a new one from Dell for £350~ish. This is a good deal to be honest, but for an 11 year old, I was hoping to find a cheaper one.

What's she going to be doing with it? If its new then it's probabaly going to have Vista on it, and you might quickly regret buying a 'simple' laptop if she tries to run games etc on it.

Used to have one of those-needs an extra 1GB of memory(about £20) and then it's a good little laptop. Has come down by over £100 since i had one(December last year).
