Discussion
Hello, This is following on from another discussion (snooper syrius) - i thought we should have one dedicated to the Pogo Drive. I want to get a SatNav / Camera detector and the offerings from snooper were top of the list until now. Do you have a Pogo Drive? If so, please tell us how you're finding it so far.
Just had our delivered Saturday not had much chance to play with yet, the camera data base is the same as the Origin B1 B2 and B2solo all of which we have had before, and I have to say they where super infact we thought they where the best of the best without a doubt.
Pogodrive well if it's as good as all the previous items it should be a winner time will tell.

First week of Pogo drive Mmmmm good and bad.
First the bad news
Had a slight problem when first registering unit possible due to the fact that it defaulted to my B2 registration and gave me no credit for my uploads, but a quick call to Origin sorted it.
Two day's later the sat nav lost it's voice once again a quick call and a simple press of the reboot sorted the problem.
Mapping whilst just as acurate as my old Tom Tom it does tend to send me on a few different routes than Tom Tom did, but that said it gets you there and that's what matters.
On a personal level I would like to have a few things diffrent on the unit but there is always something you can't have no matter how good the unit.
And now the good news.
Just like the B2 the camera software is stunning, I have owned the B1 B2 and B2 solo and this is just another positive step in the same direction and where the Pogo is at its strongest infact Just like the B2 I think it is the class leader.
Just my opinions
As the weeks go on i will try to add a few more bits if anyones interested.

Warning of impending camera's or blackspot is where the Pogo excells, you get both a warning bleep and a verbal of the safety device that effects you, i.e cameras that are only operative in your direction of travel.
If you are even one mph over the limit you get an almost constant loud clear bleep ans flasing of the screen.
Unless you had the sound system flat out and where wearing dark glasses you can't miss the alert's

AN HONEST ACCOUNT OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH POGO DRIVE. (sorry its a bit long... but, well... i got a bit carried away)
I had an original Origin Blue'i' for nearly 5 years. Excellent piece of kit and the warnings and the database were superb. Even when the screen gave up the ghost 3 years ago it was still usable cos the alerts are so good and loud.
I own and run a courier company and have always had a need for a totally portable, wireless combined satnav/camera alert system, and have been waiting for ages for Origin to launch one.
Recently I sold my beemer with its built in sat nav and so it was the perfect time to get a new combined system for my 993. Naturally i was drawn to the PogoDrive and so I popped down to my local ICE store and,..... was totally dissuaded from buying one by the salesman, and bought a Strabo instead.
A week later, after a call to Snooper to ask a) can i turn the camera voice alert off as its really annoying and chatters away incessantly? "No!" b) Ok, can I turn the camera alert beeper volume UP as its far too quiet? "N0!" c) Why not? "Because it uses cheaper parts and so is designed not to be very loud" The Strabo was back in the shop.
So, Ive got my hands on a Pogo Drive after all. I jump in the car, plug it in, and nothing happens.
I press reset and it comes to life, but doesnt do a lot as it needs registering. Take it home, plug it in... oh, it doesnt come with an a/c adapter? thats odd, but at least it charges from the USB lead. So I register and update all the software/firmware and take it out for a bit of a razz to test it out. All fine, works ok, no worries.
Next morning it is dead, wont come on at all. Plug it into the pc and its still asleep, try reset, and nothing. I call the ICE store and they only had that one ("Weve never sold one so havent ordered many"
so as i only live 2 miles form the Origin HQ, I call them and a very nice man arranges to swap for a fully charged brand new unit.
Home again, re-registered, updated software/firmware. Next day off for a mammoth weekender covering 600 miles, so the Pogo will certainly come in handly. Ive already planned my route, all my waypoints entered and am ready to go.
What a superb unit! Speed cams are alerted well in advance and the beepers LOUD! Get 5 miles outside London and "Fatal Error" appears on the screen. The Microsoft blue screen of death is never a good sign, so i press reset, it farts about for 2 mins sorting itself, and were back on track. 20 miles ouside of London, 50 miles outside of London, 5 other times on that drive and over a dozen times the next day i get the "Fatal Error" screen. Not too annoying on the motorway, but when youre hooning down country lanes and have a high probability of getting lost, the satnav crashing does start to piss you off a bit.
Monday comes, Ive been out all morning and its happened half a dozen times again, so I call them. "A bit busy today, people off and Im on my own, can you come in tomorrow and we'll take a look at it". Fair enough, theyre a pretty nice lot when you speak to them, so tomorrow it is.
Tuesday afternoon, nasty drizzling cold June day, I arrive at Pogo HQ. That morning it had died again and even spat a new message "Error #8" up a few times. Im standing in the reception chatting with one of their lads. "Error #8 you say? oh, we've never heard of that one". He also says that the "Fatal Error" is a firmware problem and wont be fixed for another 6 weeks. A bit of a bummer, but I still like the product, so Im willing to live with a faulty unit for another month and a half and all the time Im helping them beta test it for free!
Theres also another guy whom I assume is another customer standing chatting with another of their crew. The guy helping me is in the middle offering me another free replacement unit, and I am just about to show my goodwill and accept one, when some oaf in a very loud and very pink shirt bursts out of an adjoining office and shouts "Keep the noise down, I am trying to work here you know! Go outside and chat!!!" and slams the door behind him. The salesman opens the front door and ushers us all outside, onto the forecourt, in the rain.
"Who was that?", I asked him. "Oh, him? Thats our Managing Director".
Therefore, SOLELY, TOTALLY and UTTERLY down to that man's lack of respect for his customers, I now have a Garmin Nuvi 660 FM. Works a treat and has not failed once.

Hmmmm... if the product is that unreliable then I think I might just be looking at the Snooper Indago again.
Edit: or if the reports on the Strabo are any indication on the Indago then I might just stick with the B2 for another year.

Understand where you are comming from ADDLED but from reading your writeup seems to me that the real people on the ground i.e the salesmen / workers where polite and competent, even if the unit did have some teething probs.
But with referance to the oaf in the loud shirt that's kind of like tarring all the rest of the company for his stupidity.
We all know that one how many times have we been pulled or stopped by the boy's in blue and have been fairly treated, but everyone complains about the one time you get done.
Sorry to ramble on here but I just think bad news always travels better than good, get my point.
