Sticky gearbox

The gearbox on my 330 E46 is sticky going to the right hand side from neutral, although to the left it's perfectly smooth. It's been back to BW who have replaced teh gearbox and now a couple of rods in the linkage and it's still the same.

They are out of ideas and are going to raise a call with BMW UK, but don't expect to be able to fix it. Pretty rubbish I know, BUT, has anyone else had a similar problem?

I am pretty sure given some time in their workshop I could find the fault in the linkeage myself!

Folks - does anyone know how the gear linkage works on an E46? Is it a solid push rob from the lever to gearbox or a flexible cable type like the gear cables on a mountain bike?

Had the same thing happen to mine just before the warranty ran out.
The replaced some bushes in the linkage and it was fine.
