Cerb with super charger?
Discussion
Yes and yes...
Theres been two (IIRC) 4.2's supercharged over in Belgium I think... one was for sale about two years ago and talked about on here. There is also a 5.5litre AJP being built with a supercharger at the moment in the UK for a PH'er - his name is Cambell but I cant remember his PH name.
Theres atleast two 4.5's that have had this treatment successfully, Craig is the man to talk to, his PH name is NitroCerb or something similar. The aformentioned 5.5AJP supercharged used to be a Nitrous fuelled 4.5 - I think Cambell has some severe mental issues that I cant help but applaud, oh and serious balls!!
I'd argue a remapped 4.5 with induction and exhaust is just about the limit for a Cerbera on road tyres in terms of useable power due to traction, thankfully people are less sensible than me though...

I was flirting with the idea of a supercharger recently (and was flirting with nitrous before that) - think the costs of supercharging would be more than my initial guestimations (mainly due to it all being a bit of a learning curve) so have probably ruled it out. Big rebuild for mine next year hopefully to 4.7 instead (and probably more insurance friendly
)
)To date there is only one running supercharged cerb, it was done over in Belgium.
Here in the UK there are numerous projects still being completed, and the ones that have been completed have gone back to the drawing board with failures. But people dont like to talk about failures. So in truthfulness, no matter which TVR, or which camp, the supercharged TVR's from the Griff/Chima to the Cerbera to the Tuscan to the T350 are not running. Call it development, or consider it an expensive route for power with these engines, whatever suits you sir.
TouchingCloth hit the nail on the head with a sledgehammer, it surely is a costly business.
IMO...
4.7 then NOS is the best way forward, I should have listened to Craig (NitroCerb) yonks back! he bloody knew what he was talking about! (grrrr, hate that mad scotsman, he's always right)

Very sweeping statement Ash & i think you'd better check your facts

And before I get corrected again, by ALL I meant:
Chimaeras, Griffiths, Cerberas up to the latest models.
This does not include the older ones...

You seem to be implying that this range of models covers all supercharged TVRs. It doesn't, of course. Also, I don't know how many TVR Power supercharged TVRs are on the road but given they have been offering this conversion for some while I'd be surprised if the answer was none.

Ok, lets get a list of supercharged chimaeras then! I was under the impression only one was done.

3 Supercharged Chims atleast
1 Supercharged Griffith
1 Twin turbocharged Griffith
1 Supercharged Cerbera (so far)
1 Supercharged Tuscan (so far)
3 supercharged chims? who owns them?1 Supercharged Griffith
1 Twin turbocharged Griffith
1 Supercharged Cerbera (so far)
1 Supercharged Tuscan (so far)
Twin turbo griffith is well known.
1 supercharged tuscan, its off the roads currently, no dyno charts released, so it shouldnt be considered 100% complete IMO.
What would be really interesting is the dyno charts to show the power characteristics of cars such as the twin-turbo griffith, speed 12, 5 litre cerberas, and supercharged newer models.... no matter how hard you shout, no one wants to share publically disclose them... oh well... I'll stick a blower into some rust bucket and take pictures and say I've got a supercharged rust bucket.

While I agree it would be interesting to know all this stuff, the fact that you don't know isn't proof that the cars don't exist or aren't on the road. I don't see how you can justify your claim that there aren't any on the road, unless you believe you already know about all of them. It's hard to see how you could know that without a lot of research, and your questions give the impression that you're trying to find out rather than already know the answer. If that's the case, isn't your original post basically speculation?

SHOUT !!

You only had to ask

Like you say it would be interesting to see more dyno charts, mines going in to Joo's this friday for a final fettle before fighting Torque, so i'm hoping for good results again

Cheers Paul
