Does anyone know of a decent place where I can simply have a wheel fitted? I have a new wheel and need to have one wheel taken off, tyre placed on new wheel and new wheel put on. It should be a relativly simple job, but I am not trusting KwiK Fit to do it (as they damaged the wheel in the first place) and Vauxhall don't "trust their equipment".

Any ideas?

Bracknell Tyre and Battery, they've never damaged any of my wheels and I must have had 16+ tyres fitted.

Might be worth explaining that they're doing it because the last place ttted the wheel though to be sure.

Use these guys for all my tyres and tyre related stuff. http://www.tyranis.co.uk/
They also have a mobile fitting service so if you're in their range, it's that much more convenient

laugh I know exactly what you mean Dave, but if they are taking good care its something Im prepared to put up with!, Guy with the curly long hair who does the counter biz amazes me, constantly answering phones, scribbling orders on the blotter, serving customers AND tyre fitting, sure he could squeeze in a spot of juggling if he really tried !!

They did two for the Chim, i think it was £90 for the pair and one was very badly scuffed (wet road, power, kerb eek ). I haven't put them on the car yet, but they are in my garage, so you can come and have a look next time you are passing - still thinking about an early beer tonight

hehe that's the one Ian!
But i do agree with you, they do a good job. I was pricing up tyres for the Chim recently, and for Toyos or SP9000's they could not be beaten. I suspect i will be placing an order for a set in the not too distant future.

When are we going to get our Peacocks out together?

Hi Ian, I still haven't had the go-ahead from SHMBO, as it is our anniversary on Sunday. I'll have a word with her later (before i go to the pub wink ) and will give you a shout.

yes ah well, might as well add my 2p! Always take mine there. Get there extra early on a saturday though - always busy busy busy. I agree about the guy with the curly hair - I think he's the owner and that's his M3 outside.
I called up a few days before last time to let them know I was coming and when I got there, the usual melee was in place. Between a phone call conversation he was having, I said "Hi, I need two Pzero Rosso's..." He says, "235/40 18's isn't it?" biggrin

Long term Bracknell Tyre and Battery customer. I've spent about £10k on tyres in the last seven years, almost all of that with these guys.
The guy with the mad hair is Lawrence, the other guy who also runs the place is called Tim, they both know their stuff and will take extra care of nicer vehicles. They're a little *odd* until you get used to them (or they get used to you) but they've always got the best prices and they always do a good job.

Tim has even done the tracking on the front of a couple of my 911's, the old fashioned way with that weird rig with mirrors and things, and it amazes me how good the car feels afterwards.

Big thumbs up.
