Just got the "bits" for the abba stand to fit the new bike. Would I be right in saying that on one side (the can side) the tiny bit fits into the hole, whereas on the other side, the bigger bit goes OVER a large nut?!

Cheers,

numpty!

Think there should be an insert for both sides, that fits inside the nut on the swingarm pivot. Is the swingarm pivot bolt hollow?

It is yeah, but the kit I ordered only has one "small" bit, which I guess fits inside the hole on one side, and a large bit which fits OVER the swingarm bolt on the nearside.

Cheers.

Don't know if things have changed, but on the k1 i had, you got an insert for the fixed side & one for the side with the threaded bar, which fitted inside the cup.. think they might of short changed you?

Appreciate that mate, thanks.
That's what I'd have thought, but I didn't get 2 pieces that small, only one.
They must have instructions on their website...I'll have a butchers.

Thanks again.

Just called them. Very helpful, and agreed with what I was asking. However, don't look right to me. I mean, why would you have one bit covering the bolt....you'll mark it eventually. I'll wait till the expert across the road comes home (if you're readinbg this Mitch!)... cause you know what'll happen!!

Why would you cover a swing arm pivot bolt, rather than use the centre of it? Possibly because that's the only way to take the weight of the bike - a pin into the centre of the bolt may not have a big enough cross section. The same system is used by Abba for my Falco and I have no issues with it.

To clarify. The Falco system has two inserts as JS99 describes, one cup, one pin. You may have only one, if the cup that takes the adapters is the right size to fit the gixer on one side. Check this with Abba.

Mate, I could see it happening...Or it just slipping out of the bolt, scraping down one side of the bike, before tipping over the other way hehe

I'll ask me mate to have a look tonight!!

Cheers.

Chilli, I have a fair collection of Abba adaptors if you want to try a few. I'm up in Harlow if that's any use smile

It usual to have one pin and one cup or two cups. Even though the pic above shows two pins, I've never used that set up.
