Anybody else here had this???

Been having more and more trouble selecting gears when changing from higher up the rev range. Sunday, on the way home form BTCC at Donny found it impossible to select 6th (and still can't) and stick moves forward and back in 5th with application or not of throttle. So far it has also jumped out of gear once since Sunday from 5th.

Ideas? Experiences? I innitially thought gearbox mount, but can't see any problems there... 04 CV8 is the car.

I've just had mine replaced under warranty because I had similar with reverse. It also developed a really bad whine in all forward gears. Assuming yours is out of warranty I suggest you talk to Roger at Monkfish.

Sounds like you could have a gearbox or engine mounting problem.

Checked all mounts as first thought... no obvious problems. And so far, no issues with first 4 gears either.

Take a look at the troubleshooting chart: www.lastofthebreed.com/ServiceInformation/ServiceDocs/T56_ServiceManual.pdf

...assuming you want to do it yourself.

Um... not my area of expertise, think I'd leave that to someone else!

Apparently the selector forks get munched. Bronze is used as replacement instead of whatever is there already. Maybe delron!?
... or could be something else. Try over on the ls1gto.com or ls1tech.com transmission forums, loads of info there.

This has been a prob with UK cars - get it done under warranty their is a known fault..

Mine too kept jumping out of gear until it would not go into any at all after an up change into 5th at a spirited speed caused an almighty metalic squealing noise...usual team of supporting dealers aka MOnkfish and Greens came to the rescue in their usual exemplary ways
