Does anybody know the best/cheapest place to get front upper and lower wishbones in the Essex area? I see tvr car parts have them listed, just wondering if the are cheaper anywhere else, and do they both come fully bushed, I have just stuck wire brush (drill bit) straight through the lower one and have noticed a small hole in the upper oneyikes, I know its probably wise to replace both sides, but is there anything wrong in replacing just the corroded one's, (wallet has had a bit of a bashing recently)smash

Nothing wrong in theory but I found all mine were shot when I examined closely after getting concerned with the uppers. Be prepared for them to be worse than they first appear.

Mine were all ready-bushed but I've since seen others without (good opportunity to fit polys...I didn't see any sense in junking new metallastics)

ETA... I'd make sure opposite top and bottom pairs were matched in terms of the bushes used if it was me, and watch out for whether the tops are braced 'one-piece', or the older unbraced sort.

Spent the last couple of days finding out availability and cost of new lower wishbones, posted this on another thread -

Racing Green have them in stock, as do Peninsula, TVR car parts can get them in by the end of the week apparantly (its their own version).

Price has just gone up a bit, now £119 ex VAT. Apparantly the price increase is because they've 'modded' the arm a bit by making it thicker at some point thus giving it more strength. TVR Car parts sell their own for £110 ex VAT.

TVR Power have apparantly also got them in so theres plenty about. None of the people said they came with bushes fitted so its about 5-6 quid per normal type bush.

Also, phoned Bell View garage (TVR breakers) and they said that when they had them they were 75 quid each but he didn't have any in stock.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, rattled off an email to bell view today asking if they had any in stock, that saves a wait for a reply

Quite, said he was really low on stock and was finding it hard to come by any TVRs at the minute. Don't really think theres a cheaper way of doing it so I bit the bullet.

I've had the same problem and had the TVR car parts ones fitted to the upper front earlier this year as TVR Power ones were on (waayyyy) back order. Racing Green recommended replacing both sides to match, plus if possible, top and bottom together. Only we couldn't get any bottom ones so only did the tops. Personally there's 3 things I wouldn't skimp on and that's tyres, brakes and suspension.

If you are interested I have 2 uppers which i would part with. I bought new ones from Leven for qickness but afterwards i stripped, bead blasted and painted with 2 coats of POR 15. I then did the same with all my wishbones. The finish on the uppers is not the best (i got better with practice) but they are very sound I'm in Billericay BTW
