What year/model is this mirror off?
Discussion
Hi I had a crappy internal mirror fitted by the PO which was just suctioned to the glass and keeps falling off, so I went to our Lotus dealer (nice chap he is) and he gave me this one. My friends 89SE has the original mirror which is simple looking with no add-ons, so I am thinking hes given me the wrong one. But I like it a lot and reluctant to give it back cause the of the features on it. I just need to get a bracket off him to fit it.
It also means running a power source to connect the lights up.
Has anyone upgraded their mirror to this one and retro fitted connections themselves?
Also because I have a sport 300 wing am also wanting to add a small alloy or similar block in the bracket to lower it so I can see out the back. Someone here did it to theirs and thought it looked very clean and tidy.

I used to have a Chrysler LeBaron convertible with integrated lights like that. The only problem was, I could never find the right strength glue to keep the thing stuck on the windscreen. It could have something to do with the average summertime temperature here in Florida being just short of molten lead, however...
...Good Luck (and that does look like a Lotus part number in the piccie. I looked it up in my handy dandy parts manual so I can say that it is definitively NOT from the 96 on era for the Esprit...)

Kylie,
I ran the number and it is for a '91 M-100 Elan. The part number is specific to the '91 for some reason.
You'll need to run two wires, both a + and a - for the lights to work. You might want to tie into your interior lights circuit so the mirror illuminates whenever you open the doors. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

Thanks heaps fellas. Its off a Elan eh, its got a bit of weight to it and a real solid one. Turns out I need a bracket from the dealer anyway to attach it to the roof, so will have to go back for a chat about it. Will do the honest thing and ask to keep it if its going to fit. Gosh I am boring....not.
