I'll go for a wacky suggestion. Try them both and decide.

You never know...

Nice dilemma!

They're very different things. Turbo will have your nerves jangling every time you get out of the car - it really is in a different league to the 'ordinary' Carrera models.

I suppose the consensus would be the C2S would be easier to live with as an everyday driver. The interior is more modern (but I actually like the 996 interiors), car is a little more up-to-date, etc, etc. That said, I think a Turbo would be a very doable proposition as an everyday car unless you're lugging kids or serious groceries...

As the previous poster said, a drive of each should make it clear very quickly which one's for you.

Korma ... You're driving yourself nuts on this one.

Welcome to the club!

No matter which you chose , you end up wondering if t'other would have been the better choice .

So try this for size. Do as suggested and take a drive in both.
Then...
Visualise yourself in each , having passed the other variant going the opposite direction.

Right..

Which one were you happier to pass ??!!

Sounds complicated , but once these Porkers get under your skin , life behind the wheel is never ever simple again thumbup

I have tried both.

I prefer the more linear power delivery of the C2S and it seems to have a more rigid chassis. But I am going for a 996tt as that was my dream car when I was younger.

Hey,

I spent a few months pondering the same question I think I made the right decision. I also amazed how quick you get used to the power of a 966tt, first 1000 miles is was pretty frightening but you do get used to it. The down side is my c class feels like its powered by a rubber band.....

Remember if you get used to the power of the TT then for £2k you can have near 500bhp & 500lbs which the car can handle easily.

Simple ECU remap, new exhaust couple of other tweaks, new divertor valves etc and your 420hp rocket becomes a 500hp missile. Might cost a bit more than £2k though I am being quoted just over £4k for remap and cargraphic system

DMS quote those figs for their standard £2k re-map, nothing else changed.

Cheers for your thoughts on upgrades but im keeping it standard for the moment though a rip roaring sports exhaust may be on the cards i need to repalce the standard one.

I would go for the 996TT if you want to use it on the track as well? Although the 997 does look better and has a stiffer chassis.

I've driven both and the Turbo won hands down. I'm addicted to the turbo thrust which u dont get in the C2S.

Its older but better

Dont think costs are that much different either

i'm about 3 weeks into my remapped (revo) 996tt and i just love it. Its my first Porker so I cant do comparisons, I went in with both feet.

Blew away my first Scuby WRX tonight, It didnt even see which way I went in a staight line. I never got to challenge him in the twisties, he was too far behind by then.byebye

I dunno wot the C2S is like but I really can't see it topping my 996tt.

BTW, my missus also drives it, so its very docile when it wants to be.

Hello lads,

I have just come out of a 997 c2s and into a 996tt x50.............wish I had have done it sooner.

IMHO the pro`s out weighed the con`s.

The c2s s a smashing car, but the tt floats my boat.

BUT - ITS A PERSONAL CHOICE -EVERYONES DIFFERENT

Good luck
