2 unused sockets under driverseat X308 XJR?
Discussion
Hi, all!
We have just have the drivers seat out of our '98 XJR,
because one of the seat brackets has collapst.
There are 2 unused sockets, a big one and a small one
on the seatbottom next to all the wires and motors of the
electric seats adjustment.
What are they for?
Could one be for the seatheater?
If so, is the seat already prepared with the heater?
Sadly our XJR is missing the heated seats option
from the beginning. Not a big problem but a nice to have.
Thanks for leting me know,

As far as I know, the wiring loom is identicle for all cars with just the relevent options connected up. However, there will probably be a an additional relay or other component required elsewhere in the system - similarly, it could be possible that the ECU is not programmed for these functions.
I'm sure someone who actually knows will be along shortly, rather than making a best guess like myself.

The seat heater elements are built onto the seat cushion foam for the cars that got that option. If the car was not spec'd with seat heaters then it wouldn't get the elements attached to the foam cushions. As already stated, there will be other odds and ends you will be missing. I did a warranty replacement on one and don't remember the seat cushion cost but it wasn't inexpensive, nor was the labor.
