997 GT3 vs 997GT3RS
Discussion
Have just "upgraded" my gt3 for an RS and thought you might be interested in the differences.
The spec on both are pretty similar.
PCCB
Carbon seats
xenon's
PCM
Sports Chrono
RS has phone and Tyre pressure monitor which is handy
GT3 was white with black wheels, RS is very green! Love it!
The seats feel more comfy in the RS. The bases are the same but the material is different.
Internally, they are identical.
They feel identical to drive on the road except it feels like the RS's exhaust valve opens brutally at 3200rpm whereas the GT3 roars right across the range, both in sport obviously. Not sure why as I thought they were identical, exhaust wise but it sounds different.
I am luck enough to also have a Gallardo Spyder. On that, the exhaust opens at 3500rpm and makes a hell of a racket. The RS does the same but is much quieter.
I haven't tracked the RS yet. I'm off to The Ring a week on Friday so will report back.
Not sure how to post a pic but will do if someone explains.

That is interesting because the 996GT3 and GT3RS had comparitively very different characters on the road. Maybe the active suspesion settings are the same on both cars but I would expect the geometries to be quite different and that would have a substantial bearing on road behaviour.
I would be interested in your comparative thoughts on the track.

Hi Steve
I think we met at Brands when I had my white GT3 earlier in the year? I had a 996RS which was a very different car on the road compared to the 997GT3. Much less compliant. I never Parr'ed my old RS so it was a bit of a handful on the track. It wagged it's tail on the brakes and was never quite right. The 997GT3 was good out of the box. I'm hoping great things of the RS. I'll let you know after the Ring.
