So with all this rain I have left my Chim about 3 weeks without starting it (I know I should have!) and now its dead. The fuel pump primes etc.. but when I try to start it the dash lights just dim. So flat batter it sounds like..
I mananged to get hold of some very spindly jump leads from a mate and tried to jump start it with no luck, has anyone had problems with small diameter jump leads not supplying the current to start a Chim?

I have it on charge now so will try it later with the standard battery.

Thanks in advance.

I think you need pretty heavy duty leads and clips as takes a fair old bit of welly to start! (excuse the non mechanical terms!) I borrowed a mates battery booster pack and then bought an accumate. I also bought a new battery as it was 7 years old. You may need to do the same if it doesnt hold the charge.
Dont forget to leave the window open, or else you may have trouble opening the door, he says talking from bitter experience!

The reason it won't jumpstart is almost certainly because the leads aren't on the Chimaera battery properly.

Had this problem loads of times, the clips seem like they're on but they aren't.

I was thinking this also, it's almost impossible to tell if they are on correctly because of the battery placement. Should the metal panel in front of the battery come out easily (maybe mines just age stuck)?
If this wasn't in the way I might be able to see whats going on more.

I have looked at accumate/optimate conditioners but the ones I have seen on ebay say they are for bikes.

Thanks for all the help.

No the metal panel does not come out easily, it's actually a box that the battery sits in and the box is bolted to the floor.

Have a wiggle on the cables, the main problem I found was not opening the clips far enough to fit over the terminals.

I've tended to opt for the new battery approach once it's died properly and if I can change the battery anyone can!!!
