New company releases TVR upgrades

A new company has been started with the aim of providing cost-effective upgrades for TVR Griffith and Chimaera owners.

The man behind the new firm is TVR owner Clive Ford: “Since owning my Griffith I have been drawn to the thing like a magnet - usual TVR owner lifestyle really - home from work, quick Hello to the Mrs, and out to do something to the TVR, whether it’s fitting a new cam or polishing the living daylights out of it!”

The project started last year when Clive made some manifold heat shields for his own Griffith and then posted the pictures on Pistonheads. The reaction convinced him the market existed for a range of similar products.

“I always aim to keep something as simple as possible” continued Clive, “with the view that anyone who purchases a product can simply fit it themselves without having to pay someone at their local garage to do it for them. In the end it will cost a lot less money, and if it’s simple, quick and easy to fit, then you are more likely to be pleased with it rather than struggling for ages only to find it’s on the wrong way around!”

“I am very much open to fellow enthusiasts offering ideas - things that people may feel can be an improvement on the existing parts. It’s the people who own these cars who know what is good and what isn’t, and  perhaps some of these ideas can be made into quality affordable  products.”

How about a quality two piece roof for the Griffith (like the S series has) or a light fold away "top" that can be used on an emergency basis.

Bound to be a market amongst us Griff owners.

Ordered a distributor bung the other day. Quality item at a reasonable price that arrived within a few days, very pleased.

Pictures look like class item. Well done for independant initiative. Do items come with fitting instructions?

Good luck with the new venture Clive.

I'd have thought based upon your recent post you might have called it Underpant Enhancements. I did have thought to ordering one of those natty Carbon Fibre Cod-Pieces. wink

I wondered about that when I saw it. Presumably it's for intermediate serpentine engines, but there's no mention of that on the web site. (I don't suppose it'd work at all well on a pre-serpentine engine.)

It would still look just as pretty, just the engine might not run as well as before..

The dizzy bung was definitely intended for intermediate serp engines, since my engine has the prototype bung in it. smile

It would fill the hole on a pre-serp of course, so fulfils its purpose wink (but nothing would be there to drive the oil pump.)

Clive - maybe this should be mentioned somewhere...

the pictures look great. i think its really good that he is wanting suggestions about what to make, rather than just making things. best of luck.

this would be a great improvement, but not one that I am able to undertake, playing with fibreglass and carbonfibre is not my speciality.

I'm sure someone's done a split roof. It was on here a month or two ago - not sure it was a commercial venture though.

Richard Thorpe had one several years ago, struck me as a very good idea at the time and I was surprised it didn't catch on then.

Indeed it is smile

Should be at the Growl for all to see (assuming I don't blow it up again by then)

Coolio. Is it 'available' or do I supply you with my roof and a hacksaw?
