I give up. Bought a recon door/windows control box and fitted it. And now I can't wind the passenger window up, get in the passenger side or drivers side, car will power up and fuel pump primes but the black button is dead, and will not even spin the starter.

Central locking light is still on all the time.

so worse than before. Checked all fuses and 10 had blown and has been replaced.

I'm sure my previous box was effed because I tried it on Buffoons cerb and it was no good.

OK, anyone know and Auto electrician in Essex that has worked on Cerberas?

Cheers

Just a long shot becase all the other symptoms you have described seem to indicate something else is wrong. But I can offer a suggestion to the Start (black) button not working, have you inadvertently turned the little Silver key in the front cubby hole thing. (the one your never meant to touch smile) if that has been accidentally turned then the start button would be disabled (I think that would disable the fuel pump as well, not sure about that, but it's worth trying)

Thanks for the offer, very kind! I am in Derby on Buzzznis for a couple of days. I live in Thorpe Bay, the car will not move so any help would be appreciated.

I did fiddle with the key (had tried everthing else) I know I shouldn't have. I put the key back in - is there anything else I should do to reset the cars immobiliser? I have unplugged everthing but perhaps there is a certain way.

The car would start when I first put the box in then it stopped. Really annoying. Plenty of charge in battery so it's not that.

I wonder if the replacement windows/door box is faulty. It would be nice to try a known good box but I am a bit worried that my car might toast it...

My old box has been sent off to get repaired but I have no idea when that will be available.

Apart from both windows going up on their own accord + replacement alternator the car has always been pretty good for eletrical gremlins.

When you put the Silver key back in are you sure you turned it to the 'ON' position ?

yes I think so, 180 degrees clockwise. I noticed that the 'ock' that the key goes in is a bit loose, and rotates a little, I wonder if maybe a wire has come off? would the imbiliser in the of position allow the the fuel pump to prime? I though that it shuts of the fuel but aloows the stater to spin.

In my handbook it says:

Ignition failsafe key
Insert the key and turn clockwise through 90 degress for normal operation. Turn back anticlockwise to remove and disable all ignition controls.

Could it be the battery in your key fob has gone? IS the imobiliser still on, i.e. the red LED flashing

Have you tried disabling the imobiliser with the contact key in the slot. You need the led off.

No. If the key is turned to the on position, you will get ignition illumination, but no fuel pump prime or anything else for thet matter.

Hope you get it sorted mate. Will be interested to know what the culprit is scratchchin

Released drivers door.

AND THE CAR STARTED!!!!

But drivers window works - no doors work. Passenger window stuck down.

Can someone tell me if the door/window control box is plugged in the correct way - i've got a bad feeling about this.

thanks gang.

Update:

Pete - Cerby 4.2 thanks for coming round today.

Lucky charm - made 75% of the the problem go away, I guess my cerb was showing off to yours.

apart from.

The passenger door window is stuck down. The window does not move even when setting the alarm or using the up button insdie the car.

The down button makes the door "click". So guessing power is getting to the door. Had the door car off and there are no obvious busted wires or corrosion.

Anyone had a problem window stuck down? how did you fix it seen a few ideas on the forum but anyone got any ideas?

Also what would make the interior central locking/door immobiliser green light flash? Mine was doing this before it decided to sort most of itself out. Guessing it is some form of self test but cannot find anything in the owner's manual.

This just sounds like mine did when I had a broken wire in the door. moving the door while you have the down button pressed for the window, that is how I found mine, or rather the girlfriend did frown

Blimey! Been off the forum for a while, can't believe you are still suffering.

My car definitely did not like your control box when you brought it round. Hope you have not wasted money on it.

Did you get the old one re-conditioned in the end?

Hope you are back on the road soon

Blame Toadusmodus if this is total rubbish, praise me if it works wink

Your passenger window is probably stuck down for 2 reasons. One is that the microswitch on the window is broken (how far does it drop down when it is working, is it halfway down the window?), compound that with a dodgy door closed sensor in the bottom on the door, and your Cerb doesn't realise that that door is closed and as the microswitch is broken you can't raise the window with the door in the open state.
