Took a blast down to Austria last month and decided to pop into a Porsche dealer, as the exhaust was blowing. I was given the warmest welcome and a cup of coffee. I also mentioned the drivers seat needs adjusting as I am 6 ft tall. The mechanic took my 993 up on the ramps, spent an hour or so to re-mounting the silencer box and reposition the sliders for the seat. After a second cup I was given my keys when I asked for the bill. No that’s ok its on us.

Next day close to the border of Austria I drove into another friendly Porsche dealer as the headlight bulb had blown. 12 Euros for the bulb and they asked if they could change it (no labour charge).

Think I will drive back to visit our Germen friends for the next service - just for the coffee mind.

I had a similar happy experience in Aachen after visit to the Nurburgring. Exhaust rasttling and bulb blown. Without any appointment they checked the exhaust confirmed one box was knackered and replaced the bulb for about 8 euro!

good to know somewhere does it, maybe its because its Porsche's motherland?

My car broke down recently, Porsche assistance took it to AFN and I got a £270 bill for a supply and fit of battery!

£112 being the battery!

maybe they also like to see a nice 993 come in for some tlc as they are probably a lot rarer now over there, what with all the exports by us brits etc etc. ??
