This has served me well a couple of times getting off parking tickets. Thought I would share it with my fellow PHers.

Enjoy and good luck!

Is the dodgy looking blue/green speckling on the photo a deliberate plan to make the yellow lines disappear?

Good letter though, other than thedodgy pic! wink

nah, it's a result of copying and pasting on an older and crapper computer.

Letter has worked twice now!

The point made in the case law basically says that if the lines deviate from the guildlines in the diagram then they are unenforcable. So if you get done, check all the measurements thoroughly in terms of the distance from the kerb they are painted etc etc.

It may not always work.

Be aware what a Parking Adjudicator held on the 'de mininimus' rule.

I got one over turned in wimbledon for exactly the same reason.

Expect to see that line repainted immediately after they let you off your ticket.

That's an interesting read DwightVanDriver. However, in my letter there is quoted specific case law on the matter. I was also aware of the business of the t-bars/parking bays but the line in question in my example above was so outside the limits. A. It can barely be seen and b. Is considerably further away from the kerb line than the prescribed distance in the diagram.

The case you highlighted refers to the law not being concerned with trifles however the case law I quote in my example clearly states "even to a reasonable man....etc."

Given the applicant was appealing solely on the ground of the t-bars it is obvious why he lost.

Not 100% clear in the picture but you appear to have been parked adjecent to a 'dropped kerb'? If so then, even in the absence of any other markings I'm pretty sure you were parked in contravention of some rule!
