Yes - absolutely. You can get 120 quids worth of sainsbury's in the boot of a 996 C2. the 4wd versions have less space.

yep, the 996 is comfy enough for everyday use, as said, go for the 2WD for extra space.

Used a 996 C4 for everyday use including dropping daughter at nursery.

No snags at all, never let me down, comfotable, fun and as practrical as this genre of car gets!

Sold it due to house purchase and having to drive over 2000 miles a month now - I'm sure the car would have had no probs (a friend of mine has a 2.7 Boxster that does 3000 a month without complaint) but I have to take my dogs with me and at that point it's practicalities were limited!

C2 has more room in 'front boot' than C4.

School run?

How big are your kids? My 8 year old struggles and the 10 year can only sit behind the passenger seat with it pushed forward a fair way.

I would still recommend you get one but make the kids walk to school, its good for them! :-)

Had my 996 C4S for 3 years, an easy everyday car. Now I've got a GT3, almost as easy, the buckets make getting out the seat with keys, wallet and phone a little more tricky smile

Hi Paul, yes another happy daily 996 driver. The C4 does have a smaller boot of course because of the four wheel drive, but don't let it put you off. The floor of the boot is false and below it is the spare wheel and pump (it's an uninflated space saver). I've taken mine out and just carry a tin of the tyreweld to get me home if it's a 'small' puncture. Less than perfect maybe but the risk of needing to be towed for a blowout is easily outweighed by the huge gain in daily practicality. The boot is big enough to take a medium sized hard shell suitcase and some soft bags too, or loads of shopping. Still makes me smile every day. All the best.
