hello every one and thank you all who responded to my topic {cerb or tuscan). I took the plunge today and have set my heart on a cerb that i am looking at tomorrow.I'm confordent that the cerb im seeing tomorrow is the one for me it has no mods on low millage and full TVRSH and looks absolutely mint inside. What I would like to do to it is put on a sports box,re-map and re-place air induction kit. What are the best mods to get done and why.And also as well were is the best place to buy and have them fitted? Thanks again to any one who can help.
I have a 4.2 so it works properly anyway
my advice would be hold off mods and drive it while the sun shines - get it thriugh a service (12k).
With your knowledge of how the car drives, and puts down power plus niggles you may find living with the car plus anything that comes up at the 12k, you can get these fixed. Then improve.
no point in spending money on a car unless the foundations are sound.
And these cars can be expensive little bitches.
welcome to the family though, let us know what you get.

James,
Do a search on the following:
"Whirlwind Induction"
"ACT Induction"
"Sports exhaust"
"Big Bore Exhaust"
"SP Exhaust"
"ACT Big Bore"
"JP Sports Exhaust"
"Remap"
"Trackcar"
"TCS"
"Austec"
Also try these links:

Personally I'd go for the Whirlwind Induction and Pulse Plates, with either a bespoke, SP or ACT Exhaust system followed by a remap at Track Car Solutions. However, you'll get similar products and gains from Austec Racing and if you are based south of London then this may prove to be your preference.
Jules.

When you look at it, make sure the chassis is sound. Must have mods - on a 4.5 a remap for drivability. Standard suspension is ok - aftermarket setups tend to be better though. If it is a later Car (eg 2001...?) then the chassis is likely to be sound. Basically the high demand yrs for TVR were roughly 97 - 00. In these yrs they appeared to have either rubbed chassis' with salt or painted them poorly. The later cars were able to get a better paint as there was less throughput.
If you look at the chassis on a 94 Chim it is often clean as a whistle (in a grey finish). If you look at the worst years most chassis will be showing significant flaking and surface rust with some starting to show holes etc... The later Cerbs are apparently much much better (albeit I am not sure if this is cos they are just younger).
