Coming back to ownership...!
Discussion
Hi guys,
It's been about 4 years since I said goodbye to my old 4.0L Chimp and now in the process of selling my flat. As a present to myself I've decided to return to the fold and the PH forums and find myself the car I've wanted ever since they came out! Thought I'd come back and say hello as I'm sure I'll be posting on here a whole lot more!
I need a bit of help choosing the right motor though... do I go for the standard Tuscan or an S? My ideal car would be an S, carbon canned, de-catted, crystal topaz with black and cream interior
I'm not going to be using it on the track and reckon I'll be doing around 10k miles a year plus a couple of Euro trips if I can fit them in. Not too worried about insurance as my licence is now clean (the points came off a year ago!) and I've got 5 years no claims.
1) Are the many S's around for about £18k..? I could probably spend a bit more but shouldn't really! Do you think an S for under £20k is most likely to have some issues?
2) Is there much difference in running costs between the S and the standard?
3) If I get it de-catted will it pass an MOT without hassle? Is it better to leave in one of the cats purely for this reason?
4) Is there a major difference in performance between the two? I've test driven both but couldn't really tell much of a difference but then I wasn't booting them!
5) If anyone is selling one matching the spec I'm after, please let me buy it!
Sorry for all the questions and most have probably been answered somewhere else before but I can't find definitive answers. Plus I'm so excited about getting one that I just gotta share it with you guys!
Cheers for any help,
J
