Murray Walker commentates for the European GP

Murray Walker says he is nervous about returning to the commentary box at this weekend's European Grand Prix.
The 83-year-old, who last commentated on a Formula One race for ITV in 2001, will be behind the microphone for Radio Five Live at Germany's Nurburgring.
"I am looking forward to it enormously but with some apprehension," he said.
"There is a danger I could fall flat on my face! But I am back where I belong on the BBC, where I did my first ever broadcast, at the British GP in 1949."
Walker is standing in as a one-off for regular Five Live commentator David Croft, whose wife is having a baby.
He has kept his hand in by doing promotional appearances for the Honda F1 team in recent years.
It is a job that I love doing and I hope the listeners enjoy it too," he said, "but it is in the back of my mind that this will be the last and it will be an emotional place to finish. My father won the first ever motorcycle GP here at the Nurburgring in 1927."
Walker says he is hoping for McLaren's Lewis Hamilton to continue his remarkable debut season and win this weekend.
"I just hope the race is as good as the previous nine and maintains the momentum of what is a fantastic season.
"Of course I would like to see the four Brits do well, it would be wonderful for Lewis, McLaren and Britain if he won here and continued his staggering run of podiums.
"It's amazing how well Lewis has done - Fernando Alonso has every reason to feel very worried indeed.
"He's a double world champion and had every right to expect to be dominant, but to be put under such pressure by a perceived number two in his first season in F1 must be very unsettling.
"Alonso won't like it at all, but it makes it all the more exciting for us."

i recorded the Radio 5 coverage because the sync out was doing my head in, so will play back the race later syncing them up to have a listen, should be fun comparing the two comentaries.
I had 5 Live on a DAB radio and it was almost perfectly in sync.Murray and Maurice Hamilton were very good, just a shame that they kept going to check out the Golf.

They did that on ITV's coverage as well, in fact the Cock explained the tyres about 1/3rd distance through the race and then the Jnr Cock Kravitz gave his usual pitlane "exclusive" about an hour later saying exactly the same thing as the Cock did before.Brains like jelly, memories like goldfish.
I listened to it off bbc.co.uk and whilst it was about 20-30secs behind at the start, it seemed pretty spot on after the first switch to golf (although I had reconnected to the stream at that point, so may have just been a buffering issue).
It was great having Murray again, and the coverage seemed a little more on the ball (well, from Hamilton at least
). ITV really need someone with a bit of expressive passion.

But I bet James Allen had to be told the information where as Maurice Hamilton actually knows the rules.
Personally I think, listening to Murray & Maurice Hamilton, just confirmed just how bad James Allen is.

I watched both the race live on ITV with the sound off and with Radio 5 Live on beside me, which was perfectly in sync Hearing the Fleetwood Mac music again followed by Murray brought it all back.
YES he made a few errors which were quickly corrected by his co-commentator, but the atmosphere he brought to the event was something The Cock has never yet managed to achieve, and I feel he will never deliver.
Interesting, I watched the highlight show on ITV and after listening to Murray for the whole race and The Cock during the highlights, there is no question what ITV should now do...
