944 S2 - how do you .......
Discussion
Can anyone advise please? How do you remove the front badge panel to get at the air filter? I've removed the self-tappers in the bonnet-line, and the small nuts in the headlight recesses, but can't see how the panel releases from the edge of the front wings.
Also the front brakes - I have new pads and a set of self-adhesive anti-squeal shims. Do you place the shims into the piston's before sliding in the new pads? And do the pad wear indicators just clip into the pad, or are they "glued" on too?
Thanks in anticipation of any advice!

This link should help with the badge panel:

It sounds like you have missed the small inaccesible nuts that attach the thin strip below the headlamp to the inner edge of the front wing.
With the brake pads, make sure you have the pistons pushed all the way back into the calliper, clip the spider legs of the shim into the piston then slide the pad into place. They will stick onto the pad the first time you press the brake pedal. The wear indicators should just clip into the recess on the brake pad backing plate
An update in case anyone else is interested to know;
Front badge panel - is located by 4x self tappers in the bonnet line, pull out the headlight "wiper" rubbers, and unbolt 2x each side 8mm nuts. THEN - underneath each far edge is a 10mm self tapper bolt. I used a cheap (but very useful) 1/4" drive socket set to get at them. There is also another 2x self tappers on the inside front, attaching to the sides of the nose airbox. These may have already been discarded at previous services, 'cos you'd need a medium length magnetic bit screwdriver to get them back!
The panel withdraws straight-off in a forward direction. I waxoyled the inside of the panel, and gap between the panel and the plastic front section, as where it rubs together, it was beginning to corrode.
My air filter was in good order, but understand why they replace with a K&N.
Hope this is useful to someone!
Best regards !
