I'll just take half an hour and have a wee peek.........3hrs later I get to the bottom of it!! Bloddy broken bit of plastic which holds the window onto the actenuator. Who says I don't get my hands dirty!!!!!

So off to some halfrauds place in the morning I guess, hope it's a universal part!!

Going to try and black my lights out tomorrow too and lose the front number plate!!

Picture of the broken part that you won't get from Halfrauds?

Well done. Is that thingie which looks like a shopping bag the airbag? Better be extra careful when refitting...

Would be interested to see if Halfrauds stocks that lambo part (arguably some piece of ordinary plastic you find in any car, from what you say.) As a separate note, in another forum (Maseratilife) some owners started to dump in a registry details of equivalent spares (many from same mfgs that make the massively over-priced OEM branded ones) to minimise being ripped-off by dealers, for those which are hands-on minded with their cars. Could be worth a try...

Because paying 600 quid for an annual (which is not much more than an oil change) is shoot

Looks more likely to be something to do with a door speaker to me. Not sure anyone puts airbags down there yet...

wow respect, i do not have a lambo, but if i did and i had the same problem, i would get my tools out and investigate if i can sort it too.

i have saved so much time and money fixing fiddly stuff on my cars that a dealer or garage would have fleaced me for.

Good luck, i reckon you will find it is a general parts bin part, i am one of many i suspect watching with intrest and wishing you well.

Shopping bag? Huh? Have you ever seen an airbag?

Sorry, I just took the photos with my blackberry.

Unfortunatley not even the local motor factors could help me, so I made a part myself to just get the window to sit shut tight for Sundays outing and I'll most likely drop it into Lambo next week as no-one else will touch the car I'm afraid to say.

Bet any money they tell me to buy a compl;ete new actuator but as I've invetigated it I know it's purely a gromit so will be interesting if they can get the small part or whether it comes as a complete kit!!!

The actuator is bolted to the rods inside the door and the rods that go from top to bottom push the window up and down, but there is also runners to slide it into place so it's really a 2 man job so got the kid from next door to just press the buttons when needed and at least got the idea of what was wrong but in all it took me ages as it's not an easy thing to get the door panel off, but again it would only take me 30mins if I'd know now what I didn't know then!!

Perfetc for little Loigi who is built like a z shaped thing armed mecginc but not my stalky build!! Scraped 2 arms and burnt my arm on the roasting hot bulb!!!

yeah that blag bag was inside the door, bt not anymore, but no extra screws left over which is always a bonus!! hehe

Couldn't beleive the wieght in a door cover, unbelieve, at least 20k a side without 2 speakers and a crossover!!

Now if I could get Carbon door panels that would be cool!!! The reason I noticed how heavey they were was when I took the door panel off the door just shot up off the loaded spring but with it on it's very sluggish and needs pushed up.

T - can't really tell from your description which part you need, but I think it may be number 22 on the link below, in which case it appears to be available seperately, although they don't list a price - presumably so they can break it to you gently over the phone.

The part is not listed here thanks for having a lokk fella, but look at part no. 2 on this link

http://eurospares.co.uk/partTable.asp?M=2&Mo=4...

There is a plate that attatchs to the window which connects to the prongs that go up and down that part, it's a gromit inside this that has broken so that looks good that the actuator doesn't show that part!! Maybe it comes with a window?

I'll maybe do a full article for anyone interested in how and what to do inside your door!!

I appears the part is recycled plastic and comes as a complete unit, even the guys at eurospares confirmed this.

So I'll just get it done under my warramnty, so thats another 600 quid saved!!

Sorely tempted to take my car off sale now with the good weather.

Thanks for all the help and will post some pics of the part later.

Also as a side note, put back togeather the door central locking unit, which fell apart on my clumsey alignment of the window, but all good as new and not a penny spent!!

Paul, what warranty have you got running on the car then ?

The HR Owen 'Lambo' (read 5 Star AA policy) warranty has a £50 excess (no great shakes) but a £36ph max labour pay out on claims (i.e. considerably lower than the labour charges in ANY Lambo Dealers)

Or will you just be lobbing the car at HR Owen (didnt you get the car from them?) and asking them to sort it at their place?

FYI: my electric window didnt work from the day the Murci was delivered to me - it was a £490 bill to Lambo HW to fix it (HR Owen coughed up obviously)

Isn't it a big phatt AA warranty of some kind? I hope for your sake they have not excluded this part. I would be bally typical if they did.
