Following on from my post in the other Karting topic, I have taken it upon myself to see if anyone would be interested in a Karting event Late August / Early September.

I would assume weekends are best for most people. I have just spoken to Red Lodge Karting and they have the following dates available;

25 August (Sat)
26 August (Sun)
9th September (Sun)

If interested could you please add your name to this topic with your prefered date etc. I will try to keep this first post up to date with a list of people.

There are a few events we can do dependant on the nr of people interested, Between 8-14 people mini GP, 14-28 people 100 or 125 lap GP, or Endurance (time dependant on nr of people/Teams attending) please see there website for costs/more info www.redlodge.co.uk

My suggestion is the 26th which would then take the place of a monthly meet? And if we could get teams of 4 or more together a 2hr + endurance race would be a good event to go for.

I haven't checked if the above dates clash with anything else yet.

Thanks

Tom

ETA1 - I am on holiday next week so it would be helpful if someone else could form a list on my behalf. We're camping so may not get access to the net.

ETA2 - 26th Looks to clash with the Stamford show....

Yes thats the one, there are two in the area, one you can see from the A11 and this one which is on the other side of the A11 (I think off the old A11??)

Tom,

Not trying to spoil things, but the August Bank holiday weekend 25th, 26th and 27th, PHEA has two shows (see www.phea.co.uk). Sunday 26th is Stamford and Monday 27th is Lavenham. I would be more in favour of a date in September as the show season is over then, and it gives all of us the oppotunity to attend.

Hmmm...good point Ian. I'll be at the Stamford show, so couldn't do Karting on the 26th. The other dates are fine though smile

Interested should be a blast last time I went karting my brakes failed and I had to put the kart into a spin to avoid a big shunt.

Just to bring this back to life, we will be going for the 9th September, I will be confirming this tomorrow with Red Lodge.

I suggest we do the 2 hour endurance on the long circuit which will be £170 per team, we can have upto 6 people per team, obviously the more drivers per team the cheaper the cost per person. We can have between 6 and 14 teams.

Is everyone happy to proceed on this basis? And would people prefer morning or Afternoon? We could do morning followed by a BBQ? Who could be named to man the BBQ?

Once we confirm morning or afternoon I will start a new topic (which I hope to be a sticky) then post links from other regions of the forum....

Also payment wise a deposit for one team needs to be made to secure the track with all other teams paid 7 days before the event. (I assume we can arrange for this to go direct to Red Lodge instead of coming through me).
