Hi folks, just been searching for oil fill/drain information on the BTR diff. only found info on the GKN. How do you drain and fill the BTR diff? where exactly is the fill nut? hope its not that big one completely obscured half way up the side....

Also, what is the general consensus on Mobil alternative which are easily available from a good car parts shop?

Thanks

Jon.

I am afraid that it is the awkward nut halfway up the drivers side of the diff. To drain it I think you need a syphon or a large syringe to suck the oil out and to fill it take off the rear offside wheel and use a long piece of poly tube to reach the filler. It may be messy and at about £15 a ltr you don't want to waste any. But most of all only use the recommended Mobile SHC80W-140ID oil. Try tvrcarparts.com .[Top of this page].ask for Neil.

Good luck Steve

It does have a drain plug, it is facing the back of the car at the bottom of back plate.
The filler is on the driver's side between the drive shaft ring and the diff mounting flange.

Oil is any of these:

Millers - CRX LS 80W 140 BM

Mobil 1 - Mobilube SHC 80-W140 (ID)

Morris - Lodexol XFS 80W/140

Don't know of any others that will do the job other than these - anyone else know better, feel free to chip in smile

(Competition Transmission Services do it - Markyate)
