I have the opportunity to buy a large, make that very large, quantity of G-Tech Pro meters. Have any of you used them.....do you like them....and even with their new model on the market do you think the old Pro would sell in big quantities if the price were right? What is the right price? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I bought one of those accelerometer widgets from G-Tech that stick to the windscreen and it was a total waste of money. Then I bought a Race-Tech accelerometer for a little bit more (£100 versus £60 or some such), the Race-Tech one was exactly what I wanted, it is dual axis, self-calibrating and produces repeatable results, also can log and download to PC where you can analyse and plot the data in various interesting ways (like an ellipse of friction plot, torque curve etc).
G-TECH/Pro is an electronic Performance Meter for automobiles. All you have to do is plug it in a cigarette lighter, mount it to the windshield and start accelerating. G-TECH/Pro does the rest automatically and displays the results. It measures peak horsepower, braking distance,0-60 and 1/4 mile times and lateral g's. A handy way to see what the REAL performance car has and measure the effect of any mods.

When I bought mine a few years ago, I cost me $139 from the factory. I checked it out on my tow vehicle, then put it in a box with all the other race stuff. It seemed to work with the van giving me 0-60 times and all that.
I'll try it out with the CanAm hopefully next week.

Got the race tech AP22 last week. Impressive bit of kit, haven't a clue if it is accurate or not. As I'm only able to run the car up and down a 200 yd dusty bit of farmtrack pending SVA etc I thought 0-60 in 5.4 secs not bad if somewhat alarming to accomplish - hopefully might start getting a bit of traction if I can ever get past 2nd gear.
Apparently the G-tech does not compensate for nose up attitude during acceleration and so reads optimistic, whereas the AP22 (or AC22) from racetech has a correction (fudge factor)the user can input depending on suspension stiffness.

On the G-tech's.....I was able to put my deal together and would be willing to offer fellow Ultima Enthusiasts a brand new G-Tech Pro for $50 plus shipping. As you said Jack.....these usually sell for $139 so it is a pretty good deal. Anyone who is interested should drop me an email.
