I'm starting to strip the engine ready to upgrade the coils, plugs and leads. It it safe to run the engine briefly with the purple hoses off? I can see the injectors spraying fuel and I wondered if the were any safety problems. All I want to do is drive it back into the garage (it's up hill).

I suppose the safe 'I dont want to get sued' answer is don't do it, but if I was in your position I'd probably do it - the biggest danger will be sucking in bits of crap straight into the engine, so take precautions against that and get in the garage nice and quick with the minimum of revs.
