Broken timing belt - MGF

How many have experience of this?
What are the chances of the timing belt breaking and no internal damage being done?
I've just acquired an MGF with a broken belt and was wondering what others have experienced before I start investigating.......

If it's a K series engine, no chance at all.

Thats pretty well what I assumed. Oh well, I'll whip the head off and report my findings.....
