Amongst all the other ITV F1 things we get wound up about...

It's funny how the BBC do seem to be able to pick iconic music for a sport - and then stick with that same piece of music for decades.
ITV change their theme musics every other week.
Doesn't the music become iconic through the familiarity engendered by the BBC using it for decades ?ITV change their theme musics every other week.

I find whenever ITV cover any sporting event the graphics and music always come across cheap and tacky. I find this especially obvious when BBC have the same event like the world cup, you can tell who's coverage is who's just from the into regardless of any logo's or presenters
Although I think the current F1 into is better than ITV's original attempt. Although for the life of me I can't remember how that went, I seem to recall it was rather dull...

I thought James Allen excelled himself by describing the events as being "one of the blackest days of Lewis Hamilton's life."
LMFAO
LMFAO

While watching a replay of Hamilton's qualifying shunt, a mate of mine absent mindedly remarked that "the colour must've drained from his face when he hit the barrier..."
Oh and yes, the ITV music is dismal. Each previous incarnation of it was dismal, too.

With the original ITV F1 theme, I could fall asleep at night with the tv on and know that as the theme tune started I would wake up (for the night time races).- A waste of electricity and sad/geeky to be alerted by F1 music*
Straying away from the music debate (although I quite like ITV's BSB intro...).
Was anyone else really annoyed that all the c*ck and SR went on about was Lewis b
y Hamilton....
Fair enough that he had the presence of mind to keep his car running, and that he recovered from saturdays shunt - but lets be fiar here, he had a pretty dismall race, and there was no way he would come back from 2 laps down. He made a couple of bad decisions - which is all part of his learning and TBH will do him good.
But for gods sake - there was a pretty decent race going on for 3rd, 4th etc - yet all they banged on about was LH.
When they interviewed DC they didn't ask too many questions about his bad qualy run - thy just asked about LH's shunt
It's now getting to the point where I'm actually not going to be bothering watching anymore races because I'm getting fed up with it.
Oh and did I detect that Louise 'stupid school girl' Goodman was nearly crying when she was at the medical centre waiting for news of LH?? FFS grow up!!!!
And also to TK - thanks for the (pointless) 10 minute piece on how the 'wheel gun' didn't work properly.......
Sorry - rant over......

Did anyone listen he the R5Live commentary? It opened with The Chain, from that moment on I knew we were on for a great afternoon! Sadly the R5Live commentary was about 10seconds behind the pictures.

Iain
What were you listening too?Regards
Iain
I was watching ITV and listening to Radio 5 Live and there was no delay at all. When Murray counted in the red lights and then said GGOOOO GGOOOO GGOOOOO it was in perfect time with the screen I was looking at.
The Chain at the beginning was fantastic...
Satelite telly and terrestrial telly have a slight delay. If watching on Satelite, although still ITV then there is a small delay.

I was streaming the commentary to my laptop via wi-fi, so that might explain it? It's a bit annoying to hear some folks got it perfectly synchronised. I'll try and have a play next time!

I listened to 5live on a DAB radio and it was pretty much in sync with ITV.Regards

The ITV opening makes F1 look so cheap and tacky. What have the chav girl, snake and eagle got to do with motor racing?
chav girl = that's no way to describe Button
- I guess some ITV prdiction bod thought, oooohhhh sex sells, lets have a chav girl spread across a car, or better still, lets drape a flag over her naked body!Snake = Mas Moxley
Eagle = Bernie 'the basher' Ecclestone
No need to explain those last two

I like the music... I think it works perfectly - better than the old BBC IMHO
and whoever was whinging about the Lewis coverage, it was much less so than previously, and he did a stellar drive from the back, so deserved the coverage he got IMHO...
However, what annoys me now is the grid walk - previously it was interesting, insightful, talking to drivers and team principals... now its 5 minutes of Brundle dancing around people talking to random celebs who have nothing to do with F1!
