Fuses are located in the boot behind the flap on the right, and in a 'drop down' fuse bank in the glove-box (twist open the white fasteners). There should be a numbered plastic strip to identify each fuse. Failing that it might be your 'hedgehog' see http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
hiya peaktorque,
i,ve looked at the fuses in the glove box and the boot,
the number of the fuse in thebook [75] is not there,
they only go up to 45, and there is no blown fuses,
today there was cold air coming out of the top
ut no fan, the moment i touched the fan it went warm,[off]
wat is the hedgehog?
will it cost me with bmw to get a scan
thanks billy

Final stage resistor. (fan speed controller). Not that expensive or difficult to change from what I have heard. It is obviously not a fuse at fault if it is working intermittently. The 'hedgehog' is known to fail on E39's so it is more than likely this.wat is the hedgehog?
