Any comments.Just had my car back from a 12000 mile service with a well know garage just past cambridge. When i picked up the car i was advised on the following jobs needed

New front bushes required supply and fit £323+ vat

Ball joints supply and fit £120+ vat

Diff bushes supply and fit £310 + vat

As i live in Essex quite a hike from the garage can anyone comment on costs and someone nearer in Essex to carry out the work

My car 4.0 litre chim just covered 37000 miles

How many front bushes need replacing?

You can get the ball joints for £10-£20 and any good indie could fit them.

Two of the diff bushes are easy to replace but the third to the rear is a complete cow to get out.

All are reasonably easy DIY but you would need a geometry/wheel alignment check afterwards.

I use Sebring who are based just outside of Wisbech.
Matt fitted a new upper right side ball joint for £18 (had the suspension off already so no labour charge) - is it all the ball joints? Poly bushes to the lower wishbones for £152 inc VAT (didn't need any others).D
Diff bushes - how many need doing? Is it just the front 2 or all 3? If only the front 2 then it should be a lot cheaper than this. If all 3 then Matt replaced mine with Polys for £310 all in.

Thanks for your help guys there were a couple of lower suspension bushes gone on both sides and to be fair was advised by the garage to change them all while the suspension is being stripped down which makes sense and the sane with the ball joints.Ive had a clonking noise from the rear for sometime tine and have been told the diff bushes also need replacing so im going to bite the bullet and have aLL done and hopefully that will be it for some time.

Cheers Mark

The diff banging around is the normal tell tale. Visual inspection and a good poke with pry bars will confirm.
