Tack day virgin - NO MORE !
Discussion
Big thanks to the guy's at the 928 owners group for the great day at Castle combe last thursday. I went along for my first ever track day in my 944 S2 not knowing what to expect. Came home very happy with the car, the track, the race instructor and the guy's I meet.
Christ what a revellation, I had no idea how well my 944 went around corners at speed ! (until the instructor showed me). I felt even with my novice skill level the car held its own on the twisties and only lost out on the straights to the big 928 V8's power.
I'll be doing this again soon, only trouble is I have £5K worth of car and (scarred of smashing it up) am now thinking of selling it to buy an old 2.5 and making a track car !
Off course I'll need another Porsche for road driving and a 4x4 to tow the track car .............

There's no going back now! Good idea about looking at a dedicated track car.
Though the S2 is more than capable of holding its own on trackdays,(I took my one to the 'Ring and back last summer and it never missed a beat) it is hard on the car. I'm also considering an early dash Lux for thrashing around the track.
