They have asked me which of the below packages i would i like for my car. Im tempted to say none. Anyone done any of these prep packages? Is it worth it?

Thanks

With regard the vehicle preparation we supply a range of vehicle protection programmes specifically designed to protect your car against the rigours of everyday life by preserving and maintaining its appearance both inside and out.

Exterior

Your Audi will benefit from a high gloss paint sealant, professionally applied to the exterior paintwork meaning you won't need to polish it for 3 years. A simple wash will restore your car to showroom condition, so there's no need to spend hours polishing.

Interior

Interior stain protection, guaranteed for 3 years. The interior will be treated with an upholstery protector to guard against stains. The treatment is guaranteed for 3 years so if you are unable to remove an accidental or sudden stain then we will send out a specialist upholstery cleaner to remove the stain at your convenience.

Alloy Wheels

Alloy wheels are the finishing touch to any cars specification but they are under constant attack from road salts, brake dust and grime. We will treat the wheels with a hydrophobic non-stick barrier, which permanently bonds with the wheels to stop the adhesion of contaminants to maintain the original showroom finish.

There are 3 preparation levels available to you,

I think a lot of Garages sell this type of thing, along with the likes of GAP insurance.

I did tick the box for AutoGlym Life Shine when I bought my car new from an independant dealer.

I've just sold it after 2½ yrs / 50k miles and the paintwork was still fantastic. Big Plus was the seats ,no marks at all. (Although the down side was the smell inside my new car for the 1st couple of weeks)

I'm sure someone will be along to say it's a con, but I was around £300 and probably got £50's additional cleaning products with it as well as a decent bag to keep them in.

I will be doing it too my next car.

I bought a dealer demonstrator last year which had the Autoglym on and the paintwork has generally been in excellent condition (doesnt help if you dont wash it often paperbag). I need to dig the paperwork out (now youve reminded me) as I 'think' it had the interior treatment done, but I have a small stain when my son dropped some milk on it.

Alloys? I keep kurbing the bloody things so cant see how I can protect against that?

thumbup for the exterior/Autoglym, not so sure about the rest scratchchin

Had all this done on my A6 from a stealer. Basically this is the high-margin stuff for the dealerships.

Haggle for the deal you want and then ask for this free to seal the deal. No dealership will lose a sale over this.

Get it free off the dealer by haggling or if they refuse and you still buy the car from them I reckon it's better if you get it done by the independent guy they sub the job out anyways. He'll surely be cheaper and you will get to see exactly what he does-I believe most of these guys come to your house.

IIRC there are some chaps on here who do it

Its all a con. Better off spending £75 on a full professional valet once a year.

All a load of crap, do the job yourself, buy the stuff and do it or just coat it with quality polish followed but a good top gloss sealer.

Had the complete Autoglym Lifeshine interior and exterior package when I got my Audi last year. Got a good deal on the whole car package thing and it was a bit of peace of mind for the interior bearing in mind I have three kids. Seems to be holding up well but my cars get washed regularly due to my business.
