Ex Jonny 5's Diablo 6.0Ltr in 'Evo'
Discussion
Everyone loved the Diablo in that test Jon! Then you go and buy an SL which was the fastest point to point Lambo there too! The brakes on that press car were very poor though, I think there was something amiss with the servo - there was just nothing, then you nearly had your shoulder dislocated. Funny thing was it was Jenny (the new owner) and her friend driving it that got the most attention all day. Having said that there was more sheep than humans around those parts. Forgot to take me wellies

Hi Simon
I came home to get my copy , it's strange seeing your old car in print . Bit like seeing you ex ..... In bed with a mate
!
Looks like you're smitten with the 6 from your column. As was everyone else
I thought the brakes must have been knackered on the SL , as mine are so crisp.. Same with the steering . Does make me think what the lap time would have been around Bedford with super sharp brakes
Great feature , but I want a LP640 now as well !

I read the article this morning, what a great piece.
Interesting to see the SL beating the 997 GT3RS around Bedford by a few seconds too.
I bet that day sure beat dishing out steak & cheese melts eh Simon!
Well if I'd have eaten one before I'd have brought it back up after Jethro took me out chasing the SL in the LP! He can drive thats for sure. I was just clinging on for mile after mile being thrown forward then backwards constantly. It really is a mad car, can see how so many have been wrapped up. In the group shot where the cars are lined up I don't think a car came by on that road for a couple hours.Interesting to see the SL beating the 997 GT3RS around Bedford by a few seconds too.

This is so unfair i still havn't seen the article as it takes weeks more to get across the water
It better be only 1 day more day!!! Glad to hear it got good reviews looking forward to reading your words too Simon! Can't be long until your lp arrives? I must get myself over to you as i would kill to see what it was like compared to the Gallardo Sl. Think you'll trust me with the beast?

Funky, why did you and Boss keep your recent purchases so quiet? I'd be shouting about it the moment I got the keys, louder even than the 6.0 V12 behind me!
Congrats, looks fantastic - from the article it seems like it was really rated very highly indeed.
Out of interest, whats the Tax like on that (an approx figure?) IIRC Ireland has silly tax on decent cars?

Well i was mostly waiting for this article to come out i thought it would be a good intro
Plus as shes not actually 'home' yet i still cannot believe it myself!!! It was an amazing couple of days with the evo squad for the article and even better having the 4 cars there side by side. I really thought i was in a dream world!
The annual tax will be 1,343euros which is the same for the tvr. Any engine over 3 litres is taxed that figure! However it's the vrt (vehicle registration tax) which will be the killer at 30%! Figures are not fun to talk about when it comes to ireland and cars
P.s i wonder will it ever become known as funkys diablo

Simon my mate has been reading in Oz about the return of the Orangemiester so he looks forward to seeing it next time he's out down south with me as he's just arrived back in the UK, funny how it's a celebrity all over the world!!

Hi Paul, well its having a change of identity when it comes back, that plate will soon be no more. Think its had its day now!Andy ~ what a shame as we were all eagerly awaiting your arrival! I suspect it would have been a much bigger article had they got you down and also they wanted a gt! It was a shame you didn't make it but to make you feel better the second day was really bad! The weather was crap! The first day was glorious and a great day out but it was better you didn't arrive down with the rain on the second day as you really wouldn't have liked it especially as your sv has never been in the wet if i'm correct? Though the welsh roads were amazing for the lambos! Possibly a good outing for the club!

Jenny and y'all
Possibly the only down side to having a nice big chunky ol' LCUK blattothon in north Wales is the continuing grim prescence of that dark mound of gritty scheiße known as Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom -
There was an letter in The Times recently where a chap wrote to say that he and his family had greatly enjoyed the improvements the Welsh Tourist Board and other authorities had made to make Wales an ever more welcoming place - rendered as nothing by one madman's search for his personal 'holy grail' - to be the CC of the Met.

funky, i made a right cock up, i could only do one day as work was so busy i picked the 2nd one, i mentioned to jethro if it chucks it down i might not play, sure enough it did just that! tbh the journey to wales plus the monsoon at the other end had me cancelling the transporter at 7pm the night before.
they did mention a mini test with the gt and sv at a later date, but it didn't happen, shame.
