CCC or Blueflame
Discussion
I had my Tuscan cans sleeved but since decided I don't really like the sound produced. It's too rough.
I'm thinking of getting either the Carbon Can Company or Blueflame cans. There is a huge difference in price though and want to know if it's worth going for the Blueflame ones (£220 versus £600) !
Any of you guys got either fitted?

I recently fitted the Blue flame cans. They are more expensive, however they are constructed from titanium and are lighter than the CCC's. My concern was the slightly higher weight of the stainless cans may eventually fracture the stub connection on the TVR back box. But having said that there are plenty folk out there with the CCC's whom I believe have not had any such problem, but personnally, I prefer the look of the shark nose coloured titanium cans that Blue Flame offer. They also come with easy to remove db killer tubes which will allow track day use where there is a db level restriction. If I was to criticise.... the black paint in the end of the can is poor and flakes off ever so easy.
Over to the guys with CCC's.

I can vouch for the sound of the CCCs. Haven't heard the blueflames but my lord the CCC's sound amazing. The difference is astonishing for just a little end can swap. I have the carbonfibre ones so weight isn't an issue.
Up to 4-5k my tusc sounds exactly like a D-type jag (really) above that it sounds like some vicious, pure motorsport engine from another dimension. Very mean.
If you find it rough at the moment it might not be wise to go louder. Going back to standard is the way to go to mellow things out.

I have the CCC's but was thinking of going down the blue flame route titanium ones with the blue colour on them to match the car, plus the have the baffles and are gonna be lighter than my steel CCC's. They are £350 at TVR power, have you looked at these ones, as I'm not too keen on the shark nose design either.

Oh no don't give me more choices it's bad enough trying to decide. I shall have a look. I did like the shark nose design but maybe a design between CCC and shark nose would be a better idea.yzf1070 said:

The guys at CCC claim that although their cans are v slightly heavier than the originals they do not absorb moisture and therefore are actually lighter once used.I fitted CCC's last year and love em to bits. IMHO TVR should have fitted them as standard. It's how the Tuscan should sound - lots of popping too. And they retain the look of the originals, which I like.

Ditto that, the CCC's definitely should have been a standard fit. The difference in noise under acceleration is very noticeable and the overrun pops and bangs are a lot different to the standard set-up. I have the standard stainless ones. I have also de-catted my Tuscan which takes things to another level.....

Another
for Carbon Cans. They make a huge difference to the engine sound
...even drowns out the little men tapping away with their hammers. Fitting the C Cans was when I stopped missing the rumble of my V8
If you fit them, remember to check the jubilee clip fixing regularly.
Enjoy the noise.....the radio now becomes redundant.

Must say I held both a STST CCC and a TVR standard can in my hands and was shocked at the difference in weight, but I didn't immerse them in water before hand, so perhaps my thesis was somewhat thwarted.andyoleary said:

Hi Andy, my decat pipes are going on the Tuscan on Sunday (If I pull my finger out and get them made tomorrow). Coupled with the titanium CCCs it should sound awesome.
Andy
To the OP. CCC's are a must. The titanium ones are a lot lighter than the standard carbon fitment and sound ace.
