This is now my shortlist, front engine rear drive German sports car or front engine rear drive German GT.

(Criteria, must be a 2+2, must be rear drive, must have enough power to be 'interesting')

Now, I know they are very different beasties.....

So, anyone have a 968 Sport, what are they like?

I would have thought the 968 has a massive amount of finesse compared to the 850.

I think the 850's are quite expensive to run/maintain also.

My pal is a BMW technician and he used to own a lovely 850CSI, I will ask him and report back.

Seems a slightly strange comparision. Would have thought a 928 would have been more comparable, if probably older.

There was a rare 850CSi manual on my road, sounded trully stunning. There are loads of other nice cars (AM V8, RS4, new XKR, 911s etc), that in comparision sound well, ordinary!

Shame the guy sold it, would have been interested.

Job38.....
I can understand that both offer "lots of bang for your buck" & both have status. The 8 series CSI was the nearest thing to an M8 but as the other guys have said that stands better comparison against a 928, not a 968 sport!!!!

Sorry to say I really cannot see this one, chalk & cheese! Best of luck with your decision!
