Does anyone know if you remove the start motor, can you see the clutch operation, or will I have to remove the slave cyclinder.

It's normally easier to remove the slave cyl.

...but if you remove it, you won't be able to actuate the clutch.

It might be possible to look round the back of the clutch with a mirror or small webcam if you remove the starter motor, but I've never tried it. Give it a go and let us know!

Undo the clutch slave bolts a little and have someone operate the clutch ..

You should see the movement of the slave and be able to feel if it's operating..

Well car has been low loaded down to my friends workshop.

Going over tomorrow eve, to see if we can sort it.

will do all surjected.

Will be a lot easier when its up in the air, and have some dry space.

Normal garages and Axel stands are not the best thing for doing serious work.

Well I made myself a DIY endoscope at work. and a video to USB converter, so I can watch the camera on my laptop

Camera is 75mm long and 20mm dia. hopfully it should fit into gearbox.

It would fit but not enough room or light to have a good look. apart from seeing if the arm was moving correctly.

Yeah - you need to stick a light in there too! Try a few LEDs or pea bulbs.

We have got IR led ones, but there are a bit bigger.
we tried some lights but they just blinded it. we used a old fasion mirror on a stick in the end, and that worked fine.

Still did not help much, apart from tell as what we knew, that the clutch arm was working, was a good idea, that just did not work.

Got to try and get the camera clean now, as borrowed from stock at work wink
