Alfa 155s in motorsport?
Discussion
Not that I know of, but I can summarise their BTCC history..
The came, the thought they would try it on with their wings that got delivered in the boot to dealerships, Mrs. Rouse bought a 155, a team of Mondeo mechanics tried for ages to make it fit the 155, Ford went to the authorities, the authorities said Alfa you shalln't run wings, Alfa sulked and left Oulton the morning of the race (I passed the trucks leaving as I went in over the Paul Warwick bridge), authorities say oh, ok we'll let you have them, everyone else followed suit, Alfa's lost their competitive edge, Audi came along with 4wd and spanked everyone, and the BTCC went down hill ever since.
Regards
Iain

Didnt one of them have a spectacular accident at Donington? I seem to remember watching on TV, and one ended up on the other side of the catch fencing
I think you're thinking of the late Keith O'dor's accident in the Nissan. The Alfa that had the huge shunt was (I think) Warwick's at Knockhill. Completely destroyed itself.

Great days. Then everyone whinged and 4WD was ballasted and eventually banned.Alfa were very clever in building a homologation special, but by '95 the game had moved on and the Prodrive Alfas were nowhere near as competitive as the factory cars had been.
Don't forget the DTM 155s, which were far more interesting than the 2-litre BTCC cars. A young Mr Fisichella, attacking the kerbs:

Silverstone '92 BTCC last round- Great memories....We were there
!!
Watching from the Woodcote grandstands, you just knew Soper was going to get Harvey through and take Cleland off- was really
but hilarious all the same.
As has already been said, the real golden era of the BTCC, the modern stuff doesn't seem the same.[/old git mode]
