AAAHHHHhhhhh! Just got home.

After 154 miles round trip of NW Wales in the Griff, roof down, looking for the sun, we finally came to rest at the top of the Great Orme at Llandudno.

The car remained in its parking slot for 5 hours until I managed to get a recovery truck to drive up to fetch us.

Central Locking / Immobiliser has quit.

Any quick remedies or is it a dealer job.

'Great' Orme, My Arse !!!

When I try to Immobilise/Demobilise by clicking the fob, nothing is happening. I have replaced the battery so I know thas is not it.

The fob is supposed to operate the C/L but this isn't working either.

We had this the other day. By taking the fob apart and putting a bit of padding in you can ensure the battery connections are being made.

It definately isn't the fob. I've tried both of the ones that I have and neither are releasing the immobiliser.

The red light is coming on on the fob aswell so there is no problem with them working correctly.

I'm sure its the immobiliser itself?

Been there .. had that one..!

You need to disconnect the main battery
terminal for a few mins to allow the alarm
to reset.

It should do the trick !

Don't know what type you've got fitted but this may or may not help, but on some cars this can be caused by the fob going out of tune (RF) from the car system.
Assuming you can open the doors with the key still , do you have manual overide for the immob by a key? if so unlock it all and run the engine at which point if you keep the fob pressed within 10 secs of the engine starting the CL and immob should re tune into the fob (or the other way round) worth a try.

Great news, my spare fob is working after all so no need to disconnect battery.

Tried your method Harry, the fob that is inop. is making the car bleep but is still not working.

At least now I can get the car going which is a benefit when you want to go for a drive!

Thanks all for your help.
