I run a small one man graphic design business that has a decent stash in the bank and also in investments.
I'm considering releasing some of this from the company to fund the purchase of a bigger house, alternatively keep the flat I've got and let it out and buy a similar priced house. My accountant is good at keeping the books and taxation, but cannot offer any 'bigger picture advice'.

How should i go about finding someone to help me?

If you need Buy to Let advice then one of my colleagues would be able to help you. We are independent investment mortgage specialists. For further info our site is: http://www.kingswoodassociates.co.uk/

Other than that, doesn't your accountant have an IFA he can recommend? Personal recommendation between professionals is common within the finance trade.

I've a good mortgage advisor, and my accountant is not able to recommend anyone.

The IFA trade organisation runs its own website that will recommend local IFAs with experience in whichever field(s) you're after - www.unbiased.co.uk

From what you have said a good mortgage advisor and an accountant is all you need isn't it?

The guy I use is amazing! Handles investments, mortgages, buy to let etc. Fairly large company and they tend to specialise in high net worth individuals and businesses I think but I have sent a few people to them.

The chap I deal with there is one of the partners. Lives in Essex, office just near Old Street and seems happy to travel for a client.

IM me if you would like his details. I'm seeing him in an hour from now so if you want m to mention you, say the word!

Does the money belong to you or the Company to make the investment?

Pappa, thanks will do.
Sir MP, the money belongs to the business, and my accountant has no significant advice on what to do with it/how to release it.

I'm thinking Alvin Hall style - I'm sure he doesn't just deal with debt.
