oh yes
At first i thought yikes what have i done. Loud, plenty of pops and crackles. Then i thought cool.

I love mine, and they do get even louder and better with age.
Where are you in Surrey? If you fancy coming along to this i will probably be there, and you can sample them for yourself. biggrin

I was dead keen to get this done, but heard a few TVR's which sound hollow like power boats. Dont like that at all. Not sure if these were Cherries though.

Thats the reason a lot of people go for the cherries, they stop the tinny resonation that normal straight throughs can produce.

I wouldn't say mine produces a 'tinny resonation' but i don't have a video to prove it, but i've had lots of people comment on how good it sounds/pops/bangs

I agree with That Daddy. In the past I've had Jap bikes with noisy 4 into 1 exhausts and a kit car with a loud sidepipe and frankly the novelty wears off quite quickly. On a long journey it just gets on your nerves. I love the sound of my car as it is, nice & burbly on tickover, and just loud enough when you boot it.

Hi Sapper

Had a conversion done a month ago and hated it much too noisey and i think spoilt the original V8 sound that these cars are meant to have.I also had a runin with the local police who were not that impressed and so gave in and swapped over exhuasts with a guy on here who is now very happy with his new sound and im happy with the original back

cheers

I live in Caterham and have the full ACT replacement manifolds, y-piece and cherrybomb system, you're welcome to come have a look/listen if you like? From experience they tend to give the exhaust a more throaty tone - a bit more bass and growl but not a huge amount of extra volume... - until you decat!

If you are thinking about taking the one way road, the deep plunge... then just go along to a good club meet. Plenty of folk, many with some exhaust conversion of some kind and always happy to blip the throttle!

Just had mine sleeved last week. yes its a bit hollow on tickover, but get moving and its pure Nascar. Some hate that kind of sound, me I love it :-) Most amazing thing is that inside it doesnt sound much louder than before until you really give it some beans, so cruising around isnt a problem, no headaches. My Mrs followed me back from TopCats where I had it done and she was grinning at me and giving me lots of encouragement to rev it up all the way back. She says it sounds amazing from behind....

Hi Norman, Good to see you on Sunday, nice car too! If you use your chim every day leave well alone, if its your weekend toy go for it, nice deep sound, not tinny like some mods - doubles the smiles - luverlywobblepops and crackles on overrun if you're in the mood (you have to make it do it!).

I've got a few photos of concorde if Declan would like them. See you at The OBN when its a normal start time!?!? Kim.

Lies! I use my car every day and even with a full decat & cherrybombs I have never regretted the conversion, it just makes every drive a bit more fun... who wants driving to be relaxing anyway?! driving

I swapped my standard exhaust with the Gasman's cherry bombs, I love it. I use my car every day and don't find it too much at all, I get a lot more smiles from pedestians, it is loud though!
When considering the swap this link convinced me. It's been descibed as sounding like a world war 11 bomber coming in to land, fantastic!! biggrin

I have the Cherry Bombs on mine - cerrtainly not tinny or hollow sounding. I do not find the noise intrusive at all and would recommend it highly.
