I would love to have gone but like many others I suspect we can only get weekends off. If the talk had been then many more would have attended.

It’s been done before and dissected to death on these very forums, what’s the point!
Don’t get me wrong, I was at the Salisbury one in 2005 and very interesting it was too! But can’t see the point mulling over it all again. If he was successful in his bid for TVR maybe it would be a different matter!

By the way where’s this Melling Wildcat we have been hearing about for so long?

I was interested but it's too far away - now if they had booked a comference room and Rockingham during the 60th .. well that would have been the answer.

I don't suppose many TVR owners want to listen to the engine designer talk about how flawed it is since TVR engineers fiddled about with things. Better to keep our heads in the sand and enjoy it while it lasts wink

Not sure about that, there were a lot of us that attended Al Melling's first talk on the S6 and AJP8 development, that was organised by Autocraft, and very good it was too. We could do with a few more 'excentric Brits' like Al!

I would hazard a guess that a lot of people who wanted to hear the talk attended the original event.

Wasn't the TVR one quite expensive too?

Does that mean that the Phoenix and Wildcat engines are one in the same? scratchchin

Personally I'm not surprised. The SP6 debate has been done to death and, as a SP6 car owner, I'm not particularly interested in potentially one-sided anecdotal mud slinging or finger pointing. I'm much more interested in foward thinking solutions to the problems should I need/desire a rebuild.

A fair point, but I suspect you're more technically/mechanically minded than me - I'm at my best with a calculator in my hand !.
