993 door handles - metallic-type inserts

Hi all

my '94 993 has tatty chrome-type inserts around the key barrels, on both door handles. I've trawled around but can't find replacements. Has anyone else found this? My friendly body shop man said it is known in the trade as "sh*t metal". I'd apprediate any pointers on getting them replaced.
