I believe you will be OK
I was flashed by one ( from behind, oo err ) the other day when there was an ambulance going at HIGH speed the other way. I was well bellow the speed limit, and will fight it if they send an NIP

I've had a few flash at me like that too, sometimes they trigger when a car drives towards but as far as I'm aware its nothing to worry about. I never heard anything.

The only camera that can catch you front-on is the Truvelo. Gatso cameras are able to monitor approaching vehicles, but are not licensed or calibrated to do so in this country. Several 'cabbie' mates of mine have used this fact to check the trigger speed of the Gatsos in my area, so they know how far to drop from their usual 70mph as they approach!

Without wishing to cause offence, I cannot believe how many people do not know this. Coming up the A23 the other day "pressing on" in the early hours I almost wiped out an minicab when the driver panic braked to 30mph because there was a camera. Firstly it was facing the wrong way and secondly it is a 40mph limit. muppets.

Know the feeling - was following (about 2 sec gap) a car travelling down the A339 towards Basingstoke - seemed quite well driven, sticking to, but at the speed limit. Get to the cameras and panic brake from 60 down to about 30 ...

That (briefly) got my full attention ....

Words fail me ...

Martin

(edited to add thats the 2nd time its happened to me - and yes I do anticipate it, but 60 - 30 !!!!!!!)

Through the road works south of the QE2 bridge on the M25 last night following a prat who braked down to 40 at each SPECs gantry, then sped up to around 60 (judging by the progress he made away from me with my cruise control set on 53 - actual 50). That was 'amusing'; what wasn't so 'amusing' was closing up behind him after the limit had ended, he remaining in the o/s lane then panic braking when he saw the out-of-use SPECs that follows the end of the posted limit. So rapid and severe was his braking that his car began squirming and I took avoiding action - Streaky
